Yes, in hot and humid climate evaporator freezing is common to both E90 and F30. Happens if the fan speed is low. On a long trip, setting the fan speed to high prevents the evaporator from freezing. Or why not turn off off ac while driving for 10min or wtvr to thaw and back on to avoid stopping.
736 posts · Joined 2010. #9 · May 24, 2017. Possible heater control valve opened allowing heat in. Mechanical means it's stuck or the DME isn't communicating with the valve. Then possible head unit. Put your hand on hose going into fire wall on pass side.bIt should be kinda cool after the valve. If not well there ya go.
It would just stop blowing cold after 5-10 mins of running. The blower is fine & air is moving, just not cold. If at a stop, I notice the RPM would bounce from 500/600 to 900/1000 & drop back down very 5 secs. If I turn the AC off, after it stops working, the RPM stops bouncing. While the AC is functioning & on, I have no issues. mWZjQ.
